Donate for Bird Conservation
You can donate here in support of Atlas book on the Birds of Armenia, detailed study of endangered species, local capacity development, conservation action, or education campaign. In donation, please mention the bird species that you would like to support.
Bird Data Processing
Once the data are collected they have to be analyzed in order to produce population trends and distribution maps. Each donation helps us to cover two hours of professional work and become one step closer to the publication of Atlas "The State of Breeding Birds of Armenia".
Bird Data Collection
Significant part of the data collection for monitoring is implemented by the Volunteers. However, there is still a large part of the data input and processing. Also we often need to cover expenses of Volunteers. Each $25 of your donation is a transportation expense , which helps to cover one 10x10 km square.
Conservation is often a change of the attitude and perception. Each such donation helps us to conduct one class in rural communities with kids, farmers, or hunters, increasing their awareness of birds' importance for their sustainable livelihood.
Birdwatching brings alternative income to the rural communities. Development of the local capacity is a key in this case. Each donation helps us to train one local inhabitant to be a trail guide, to run his B&B, or to provide catering service. Optionally, the donation can be used for purchasing equipment (e.g. binocular) for the local people.
Some endangered species require more study for understanding of their biology and therefore current or potential threats. Each of such donation helps us to organize one full-fledged expedition for deep research and to produce new knowledge.
Sometimes there is a need to apply habitat restoration techniques, for example to build a nest platform for White Stork or Imperial Eagle, or to apply remediation of the polluted land, or to build artificial nest boxes for cavity nesters. Each such donation helps us to build one nest-platform, to clean one acre of the land, or to build ten nest-boxes.
